The tap, not the rate

EUR mobile payments: what a phone wallet changes and what it does not

A phone makes paying faster and does not make it different. The wallet on the phone is a way of presenting a card, and the conversion rules of the card, the processor and the casino stay as they were.

That is worth saying plainly, because the speed of a tap invites the idea that something clever happens to the rate. Nothing we read suggests it does.

A euro payment passes three stops, your bank, a payment processor and the casino, and a rate can be applied at each

What the wallet passes on

A card wallet hands the processor a card, an amount and a currency, and the processor does the rest. BetFury lists Apple Pay and Google Pay among its accepted payments and shows both logos in its buy-crypto block, and Roobet’s buying article says the process works on mobile devices with the same two wallets. In both cases the currency of the card and the currency of the charge decide whether anything is converted, exactly as with a plastic card.

Buying coins on the phone

Duelbits’ deposit article, January 2026, puts the buy-crypto route in a green button at the top of the site and lets you pick the amount in USD or EUR. On a phone the button is the same button. The euros go to the seller of the coins, not to the casino, and the rate is the seller’s.

Receipts on a small screen

The risk on a phone is not the rate but the record. A confirmation that vanishes when the app closes is a confirmation you cannot compare with the bank’s line. Take a screenshot of the cashier’s confirmation before you leave the page, and keep it with the date.

Short answers

Is a mobile deposit cheaper?

We found no operator that says so. The processor and the card decide the rate, not the device.

Why take a screenshot?

It is the one record of the figure you were quoted, and without it a difference at the bank cannot be compared.

One question before you go

The next page is an operator’s own site, and an account there holds real money. Which of these is true for you?
