Two balances
EUR bonus balance: which currency a promotional balance sits in
When a casino credits a promotional balance beside your cash, you hold two balances, and nothing says they are in the same currency. This note is about that question only. It quotes no offer, because we have no first-party figure for any operator on this site.
Why two balances can differ
A cash balance takes the currency of your deposit. A promotional balance takes the currency of the offer, which is chosen by the operator. If the two differ, someone converts one into the other, and the rate and the moment are the operator’s decision. FortuneJack’s terms describe the logic for deposits, saying that a transaction in a currency other than the account’s base currency might be subject to exchange rates determined by its processor at the time of processing, but they do not say how a promotional credit is treated.
What to ask
Ask in writing three things: in which currency the promotional balance is held, which rate applies if it differs from your cash balance, and when that rate is fixed. A reply that names a currency and a moment is worth keeping. A reply that says only that terms apply is a reply that has not answered.
What not to infer
Do not infer from a euro figure on the screen that the promotional balance is in euros. As with any display, a figure shown beside a balance can be a translation, and Stake’s help article says in so many words that a local-currency view of a crypto amount is only approximate.
Short answers
Does this note describe an offer?
No. It describes the currency question around any offer and quotes none.
Who decides the rate?
The operator, according to its terms, and the terms we read say nothing about it for promotional credit. Ask in writing.
